New Aldi Store in Ballina, Co. Mayo

Pictured here are Charlene Kilgannon ALDI Ballina Store manager with her team at ALDI’s newly opened store in Ballina, Co Mayo. The €10M store is ALDI’s fifth in the county and has created up to 30 new permanent jobs in the local area, as part of a wider €63 million investment in the West of Ireland involving 10 stores. The store has been designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible, powered by 100% green electricity and featuring solar panels on the roof of the store. ALDI now operates a network of 152 stores nationwide

Aldi Ballina

Ballina is set to get a new Aldi store in 2022 which will bring 30 new permanent jobs to the Co. Mayo town. The new store will also create 50 jobs during the construction phase. Parking for 90 cars, 4 EV charging stations and a bicycle stand unit are also planned for this development.

Project Fresh Design

We are delighted to be supplying the structural steel for this project which is due to be completed by the end of 2022. The new store will be built to Aldi’s Project Fresh design concept, where all the fresh produce is located at the front of the store and there is ample chiller space. These changes are designed to meet Aldi’s customers increasing demands for fresh produce.

The spacious 1315 square meters store will be the 5th Aldi store to open in Mayo. The airy layout and decluttered interior will offer visitors to this Ballina store an easy and enjoyable shopping experience

Building Partners

We are working with Glebe Builders on this project and we have put together a selection of photos showing the progress made on this build to date. We are looking forward to seeing the completed building. The Aldi Ballina store is designed by Deady Gahan Architects and the engineers are Downes Associates.
