EN 1090-1:2009
EN 1090-1:2009 is a European Standard that defines the requirements for assessing the conformity of structural steel and aluminium components, including kits, for construction purposes. It covers manufacturing and, where relevant, structural design characteristics, and applies to both series and non-series components and includes those used in composite steel-concrete structures. The standard encompasses a wide range of products - hot-rolled, cold-formed or produced by other technologies - in various shapes and forms, whether unprotected or treated for corrosion resistance, such as anodised aluminium.
Finalist Irish Steel Awards 2024
Each year Irish Steel (Ireland’s Association of Metal fabricators & Manufacturers) hold an awards ceremony to recognise the skills & craftsmanship provided by engineering companies throughout Ireland to what might be considered iconic projects. In 2024, the new Small Craft Building in Killybegs received a nomination within the Recreation and Education category for the skills and craftsmanship required within the fabrication process. McMenamin Engineering were delighted to be the Recreation and Education Runner Up.
